how to use Complex CD/DVD burner with Total Commander?
I've just installed Complex CD/DVD plug in v3.62 for Total Commander on my Windows XP system. I can get to the Burn CD icon on my Network Neighborhood just fine. I can also open Complex CD OK.
But at that point I absolutely do not have a clue how to proceed. The readme file is fine for install and uninstall... but I can't find any other documentation anywhere.
As soon as I get to "Open Project," I'm lost. There's no help... no instructions. I've used software for the past 25 years, and can usually figure out almost anything. This one has me completely stumped.
What do I do to select files and copy them to a DVD? I thought I'd be doing this all in Total Commander... just copying everything to my DVD drive. (It would be great if we could).
I'm not experienced with Total Commander plug-ins, and maybe this is the problem, or maybe I'm just dense.
I also note that complexcd.com is now complexnt.com, and there's no support forum, and some html help files I downloaded don't display. Anyone have any idea what's happening. Is there another DVD burner that will work well with TC?

Before you click to the 'burn CD' Button just copy all desired files/folders to the folder. The 'burn' will burn all files in the folder to the CD.

Thanks all. First, I had seen that 13 page thread, which was really unfortunate, since it didn't discuss the software at all... just went on and on haggling about the price.
ComplexNT is a little sparse in their help info, but their technical support got right back to me, giving me enough info that I could easily make a backup. It's a great utility. I do see that the drive drawer opens after a folder is burned.... not sure how that will affect my burning multiple folders. Right now I'm just burning MyDocs to DVD.
Initial points that were confusing to me...
- I was trying to copy my files after I'd opened the Burner, rather than before. Sheepdog's post comes clear to me now after I've figured this out....
- The concept of copying to a virtual directory in "Network Neighborhood" was kind of foreign to me....
- And their help file, which you need to download separately from their site, didn't open until I unchecked "always ask permission before opening" from the app.
Anyway, I recommend the plug-in... get the impression it is supported... and that if you go to Support on complexnt.com, you can contact them with the question about ejection during burning and whether they're continuing on the project. For me now, it's the easiest way to create backup to DVD that I've found.

Sorry that I did not lead you straight to the point. But if you had asked once again we probably could have helped you.
I think Clo would not make you reading this thread to clear up your questions but to point you to that great free other Plugin TC Burner which download link is mentioned in the very first post of that thread.
Although this plugin is (currently) not further developed I would recommend you it to you, too. I have both TC-Burner and ComplexCD pro. But I normally use TC-Burner.

Actually, you did lead me straight to the point... I just couldn't quite put it all together because there's also a "Burn" button on upper right of the software, and that's the one I thought you were talking about... not the shortcut that also resides in the destination directory.Sheepdog wrote:Sorry that I did not lead you straight to the point. Thanks. I had read the TC-Burner thread and was concerned (and still am) because it's a beta version that apparently never had certain problems addressed, or at least I can't tell from the thread whether they ever got fixed. In particular, the one that puts me off is that it the program uses the Registry to store configuration data (instead of using an ini file). Since I'm not comfortable going into the Registry and the program is unsupported, that potentially leaves me with problems down the road that worry me.Sheepdog wrote:I have both TC-Burner and ComplexCD pro. I haven't come up against the drawbacks of the ComplexCD plug-in yet, but I'm sure I will.

the registered version of the plug-in.
