Files and dates

Post by *Andre Linoge »

Goodmorning,

When i copy an (un edited) file with an earlyer date to the harddisk, the file-date is set to todays date, for example, filedate 01-01-2000 becomes 22-06-2006 without the file is edited.
What i need is an change to todays date only after the file is edited.
Can i obtain this option within TC, or has this to do with the windows XP config??

Regards

Total Commander always tries to copy the file date with the file. Unfortunately sometimes this fails, for example with some versions of Norton Antivirus in the background. Solution: Use compatibility mode for the affected drives: Configuration - Options - Copy/Delete.

If it still does not work, you can use my PowerPro script to restore date/time from initial file to that copied with "lost" date.
