Text Replacement in Multiple Files

Post by *margolis22 »

I have placed TC on a usb stick and looked in each and every INI file and replaced text string c:\program files\totalcmd with %commander_path%. It would have great for TC to be able to find text within files via the Search function and be able to replace that exact text string with something else specified. Is there a way to do this currently in TC or does this sound like something that can be added for future use? This would be useful when changing AHK files with the todays date or something else that use's scripts where common text could be changed easily.

This was requested many times already - use Forum Search function.
Currently, it's not planned, because can do a lot of damage.

However, in TC7 it will be possible to use WDX-plugins for changing data. I think, it will be possible to write such a plugin that replaces the text using this function.

You should use the USB installer from our homepage www.ghisler.com , it replaces most of the paths automatically.
