empty ftp directory
I love TC pocket... it's awesome.
I've having problems with FTP however.
With tripod.com everything works great. But with fsphost.com for example the directory listing shows up empty after login, and when I transfer a file to the FTP server it isn't recieved correctly. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?
Try to use passive mode.

no Listing using GuildFTPd
I've got a very similar problem ...
I am running a FTP Server GuildFTPd, after connecting to it I am unable to view the directory listing. I have no problem connecting to the server from other clients (DOS, SmartFTP, or Total Commander for Desktop).
Things I have tried:
- Every permutation of Passive/non passive connection on both the PPC and the Server.
- I thought perhaps GuildFTPd is considered an "Exotic" server so I used a template using TotalCommander for the desktop:
[GuildFTPd]
Template1=pppppppppp !S* TTT DD UUUUU n*
Still no luck in getting a display on the PPC.
Well here is log from TotalCommander running in Passive mode:

After looking at the log I think it might have to do something with the "150 Opening ..." line it comes back with 0 bytes. But I am unsure, and dont know how to resolve this. I've checked numorus post but was unable to find a solution. Any suggestion would be greatly appretiated.

Difficult to say - it could really be the "0 bytes" report from the server, so TC/CE assumes that the listing is empty. I will try to find out what happens when I find the time to install that server...

Try to allow ports 1024-65535 incoming on ftp server side for the ftp server, otherwise no passive mode connection will be possible. Or better, use a firewall which supports stateful packet inspection. It will see the ftp requests, and automatically open the right ports.

Alas the solution of disabling the firewall on the server did not work for the GuildFTPd server, still the empty list. And if I am mistaken there is no default software firewall installed on the PPC.
Reguardless I am not sure if that is the solution for this case since Pocket Internet Explorer & ftpView are both able to display the list.

Can you post a log of both Total Commander Pocket and your other client? I don't see any reason why it should work with other clients and not TC/CE...

I will try. The other clients are Resco, which as far as I can see has no logging; and vxFTP, which will supports scripting to log (but I can't figure out how to write the script for it).
The TC log was easy enough to find. I'll be back in a couple days if I can figure it out.
Thanks very much for your help.

You can already post the TC/CE log, perhaps it's sufficient to find the problem...

Thanks very much! Unfortunately your server doesn't support paths with spaces in the LIST command. Therefore there is no chance to use Total Commander Pocket for FTP with your server.
I guess that the other ftp clients use "change directory" commands instead of absolute paths. This is a completely different approach (used e.g. by Total Commander for Windows) which cannot be used with the plugin interface of Total Commander Pocket.
