can I connect my PC to another PC using internet connection, like as LPT connection?
I think it's also possible w/o an FTP server, provided that you know IP-addresses of each other (they can be persistent; if they are server-assigned you can inform each other (e.g. via e-mail) after establishing a connection) and security attributes (domain/workgroup/password and so on).
I connected in this way with another PC several years ago but it was a long time ago, so I'm not very sure about the details.
On one PC I turned the dial-up server on to force its modem to receive phone calls. Other PC's modem called to the first PC and after the connection was established, in command line or in Windows Run dialog I typed "\\111.222.33.44\" or "\\111.222.33.44\share_name\",
where "111.222.33.44" is an IP-address of another PC.
A year or two later I tried the same but modem was picking up a "handset" and hang it up shortly afterwards. I was unable to resolve this in short time (probably smth related to different protocols used on PCs), so we just exchanged files by e-mail.

In theory filezilla also has a free FTP server version, although I haven't used it yet.

If you want to connect only 2 PC's you could try one of these remote controle programs (these are not free). You can not only share files but also controle the other computer. They run a small server application on the PC you want to controle, and you can attach to it from another PC using a client. Be sure to use a non standard port and a good password for security. (Remote-Anything can even use encryption and can be set up to only listen to a certain IP.)

BTW: using the default windows sharing over the internet (as mentioned by Valentino) is very unsafe. Hackers are constantly scanning shared folder ports and the passwords can be easily cracked...

@Valentino
yes I know this type of connection (with modem, and term95.exe from Norton Commanderthe old , but in this case make only local connection (for other country the cost is too much)
maybe in next "Total Commander" (ver 6) Ghisler make this option, for connect 2 PC wich use Total Commander in same mode than LPT connection, or with plugins new that emulate ftp or lpt

Hmm, I don't seems to understand your problem,... Valentino's suggestion should work:
you have 2 computers both connected to internet L (local), R (remote)
you know the IP of R
type in TC's command line: cd \\ip(R)\DRIVE$
where DRIVE is C or D or whatever.
presto!
--Works for me, btw you need to know R's ip, R and L should both be connected to internet. R should have drives shared for Administrator.
No extra costs, and you can transfer files;
P.S. This is completely unrelated to TC, it's a windows feature. UNSAFE (unless tweaked by using firewall)
Other solutions include UltraVNC (free) or some other remote control prog. that supports file transfer. Another solution is an FTP server. Personally I think you should try UltraVNC.
--These solutions also require R and L to be connected to internet.
Cheers.

Hi,
You can use tightVNC (http://www.tightvnc.com) in combinaison with other tools by ex: Kadoodle (http://www.kaboodle.org/) which will give you the ability to connect to another pc with the same softwares installed.
