[WISH] Collapsable File (Image) Sequences

Post by *caypiranha »

Since I am working with 3D Visiulisationstuff and Videoediting, I always have the same wish: I would like to have a collabsfunktion for Imagesequences.

Example:

total.001.jpg
total.002.jpg
total.003.jpg
total.004.jpg
total.005.jpg

to: total.001-005.jpg in one row, that could be selected and handled as usual.

When you have a few seconds or minutes of Video in frames in afolder, qick come a few hundreds, thousands of files together. To get an overview over what you have, is quiet a pain to scroll with.

So that here looks perfect the first glance, is´t it?

total.001-003.jpg
total.005-010.jpg

...you even can see fast where your gabs are if you have missing frames!

there is, better say was a Software called x-packed, that was doing it for you. But it is an additional software, and is not availible any more.
Would be a great pleasure to find something like that in upcoming version of TC! =)

For quiet a cuple of Peoples it would that Argument to step an that tool!
I am sure it would be taken with a kissing hand!! =)))

Linux recognizes imagesequ. automatically... wtf isn´t that redmondthing here doing it...

cheers!

I have built a pre-alpha version of a packer-plugin for this purpose. I'm sorry, documentation is currently only available by means of this thread in the German forum.

Yes, this Pluggin is almost done ( I expect....=)

But so far it simply works like that:

1. copy the file in you TC dirctory, and doubleclick it. Confirm probably as it is.

2. When you are in Dir with files that have Numeration, it will collaps all those to an overviewable File-entry. It´s easy now to check for possible Gaps - e.g. Filmsequences.

I recogniced, that link here in the English thread is not working anymore.. I dont know, I will ask Juergen for that.
but during that, go to:

http://ghisler.ch/board/viewtopic.php?t=11443&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=15

and scroll down to the second Post of Juergen. take the Link in the first Line of that post - this is the latest Release!

cheers - Kay

Thanks for reporting the broken link, Kay!
The problem was that in the meantime I had renamed the download file from "groups.zip" to "sequences.zip". It's fixed now.

Since Peter has reported a serious bug yesterday, I'll release a new version this afternoon.

[edit]New version released now, see URL above.[/edit]

If more bugs will be found, I'll continue to release fixes quickly (if possible). Otherwise, I'll take my time to produce the first "official" version, which will contain a better documentation, of course.

I have changed it from a packer plugin to a file system plugin. The first official version of the "Sequences" plugin is now available here.
