[WISH] Old tab switching behaviour toggle

Post by *Sosna »

I used to switch tabs and look at tab content, not at tab caption, and now I can't see content change until releasing CTRL. Maybe there is a hidden ini-option or smth for those, who prefer old style switching?

I have not used TC 7.0 but I would prefer the current behaviour as well. I think it is very irritating if I have to release the Ctrl key in order to see the tab content.

Both behaviors have pros and cons. The main advantage of the new behavior is that tabs representing directories on the network won't delay tab switching. Please also note that there is a tooltip now which displays the full paths of the tab.

Unfortunately, to get the old-style behavior you have to assign shortcuts without Ctrl to the following commands:

Code: Select all

cm_SwitchToNextTab
cm_SwitchToPreviousTab
Personally, I defined Win-Tab and Win-Shift-Tab, using AHK.

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

I see this tooltips, but there are advandages in both ways. Ideal way is to switch to local tabs immediately, and to network tabs - with this tooltip, but it's easier to add an ini otption.

The idea to load local tabs immediately and network tabs only when releasing Ctrl sounds good. This should be one of the options.

Support++ for such an option.

Normally using latest TC on:

x64: Clients/Servers from Win7 to Win11 and Win2K12Srv to Win2K22Srv, mainly Win10 though.

I vote for three states:
0: current style, default
1: delay for network only
2: old style

/me prefers the current style because the eye can concentrate on the tab titles when switching.

What about this option? I'm still using 6x version but I'm testing each v7 release and I'm really disappointed that I can't use old style of tabs switching :?
