The maximum length for tooltips seems to be hardcoded to 259 characters.

You're right! Confirmed.

I just added a comment with 278 chars and added the comment as "user defined help text". It's displayed in it'S full length.

It's actually not a problem concerning all tooltips. It's seems to apply only to custom tooltips. tc.Comment is a good example. Using this field the tooltip is cut. When using the option "Comments from descript.ion/files.bbs files the comment is displayed in full length.!
