Are alpha-blended menu icons (PNGs) possible?

I have tested icons with alpha channel (32bits) under WinXP SP2 and display correctly at menus and toolbar of TC. :)
I don't know how are displayed under other OSs.
I can read English, but... I write like Tarzan. (sorry)
