If an external compare tool is defined, one cannot call the internal compare in such case.

Agree.

But you have 2 commands:
cm_IntCompareFilesByContent (Use internal compare tool)
cm_CompareFilesByContent (File comparison)

Yep... thanks.
I was talking about the menu that appears when you click "More Options >>". It never occurred to me until now that Ctrl+F3 would work in there, in order to think further at Ctrl+Shift+F3

Upon testing, either of the shortcuts calls the external tool.

Anyone can confirm?

Hm, I can't confirm that. CTRL+F3 calls the external tool, CTRL+SHIFT+F3 the internal one, just as expected.

It's no surprise it doesn't work for beta 2 testers. The history entry stickynomad quoted is part of beta 2.5. The addition will also be part of public beta 3 which is planned to be released next week.

Thanks Lefteous
I might add here another annoying issue in TC: modifiers have no effect sometimes.
Ctrl+Shift+A behaves exactly as
Ctrl+A, as long as the former is not assigned to any action, just like Shift isn't pressed at all.
By taking the situation at hand: Ctrl+Shift+F3 should produce no action.
I remember seeing a thread about this issue ... a long time ago, but I can't find it right now and I can't recall the resolution either.

dang! I didn't look close enough. Well, I hope this isn't too tragic, as beta 3 should arrive soon anyway, so: shhhh
