cannot add files to an encrypted 7zip archive?

Post by *wym626 »

I have created an encrypted 7zip archive with the 7zip plugin and it works well,but I cannot add files to the encrypted archive.
When I drag files to the archive and press the enter, a password window appears .I enter the correct password but a message appears "cannot open the file!"
PS: If the 7zip archive is not encrypted,adding files to it can be successful.
Why?
================
7zip plugin version:0.5.2
TC version:TC 6.55/7b2
OS:winxp sp2

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

It's quite probable that the plugin doesn't support adding of files when it is packed as a solid archive (which seems to be the case for 7zip). With a solid archive, the entire archive has to be unpacked and re-packed to add files to it.

I found this in the 7zip documentation (not in the plugin documentation).
Why adding, deleting and updating of existing archive doesn't work?
Current version of 7-Zip cannot change archive, created with solid option switched on.
