[REQ] Allow tab closing without first opening it
I really like the new feature for changing tabs that while you press Ctrl+Tab, the tab only change when you release Ctrl.
But it would be very useful if you could press W while Ctrl is still pressed and close that tab. This way you could close a tab/multiple tabs without first switching to it/them.
This is useful when having a slow ftp/lan connection opened in that tab.

But you can do that now. Or did I misunderstand you?astrotzky wrote:But it would be very useful if you could press W while Ctrl is still pressed and close that tab.

Here it closes the tab that is selected during Ctrl+Tabbing. That is:m^2 wrote:I think you misunderstood it.
CTRL+W closes active tab.
a) press Ctrl (do not release!);
b) press Tab several times till the header of the tab is selected (the tab itself is not opened as Ctrl is not released);
c) press W (Ctrl still pressed) - the tab selected is closed and the nearest tab becomes active.

Damn it! Sorry, I tested in another TC version. In pb3 it does not work, indeed.

I'm not sure, don't be too optimistic. I remembered that it worked in TC7pb2 and then was removed in pb3 because of many problems caused by similar key sequences. So, this could be just a bug in 3.5 which will be fixed again in public beta 4.astrotzky wrote:Yes! So this will be included in the next beta / release. Thanks.
It is known already that a private beta is out (a couple of beta3-bugs reported here have already been openly confirmed as fixed in the private beta), so I don't think I revealed much info by saying that I'm using this version. The only problem is the accident revealing of the behaviour of Ctrl+Tab,W in 3.5, but unfortunately I posted it here before I discovered that 3 and 3.5 behave different here... I'll try to be more attentive in the future.SanskritFritz wrote:Not fair
