Hello forum readers,
I'm looking for an easy way to delete empty folders in a recursive way using total commander. I have searched the forum. But I couldn't find an easy way in doing this...
Maybe you can give me a clue?
I want to select a root directory e.g. c:\Program Files
Then pressing a button or selecting a menu option it should delete all empty sub folders inside the c:\Program Files folder.
Is this possible, for example using cmd_xxxx commands.
(I also hoped the treecopy could do this but unfortunately it's not yet possible).
Regards,

You can only do this with a trick:
- Set the directory with the empty folders on the right side
- Set some other directory on the left side
- Use Commands - Synchronize dirs
- Use asymmetric mode
- Click "Compare"
- Click "synchronize"
- Uncheck all options except for "Right: delete empty dirs"
- Click OK

Mmm, thanks for this answer. It seems to work fine (ofcourse).
But as you described in the first sentence: "You can do this with a tick"...
Do you think there will be an easier method of deleting empty folders?
Maybe a menu item 'delete empty folder(s)' with a new release of Total Commmander 6.x?
Anyway thanks for the answer!
Kind regards,

It's not TC, but I found a free command line tool that will recursively delelet empty directories. You can get it here - http://www.webattack.com/get/rmempty.shtml
