It is partly fixed. Situation 1 is fixed, but in Situation 2 the first character of the third line is selected after pressing Ctrl+Z - it shouldn't be selected, since it wasn't part of the original selection.

Confirmed. Selecting two or more lines, then deleting and undoing it will leave selected one character too much.
I will check that. That's the reason why I ask for one bug report per message, I simply didn't notice your second report (I though that it was for the same problem).

It was for the same problem. The second situation is partly fixed! However situation 2 was caused by more than one bug.
