escape stops search process in another instance of tc

Post by *seb »

im using multiple instances of tc, currently 7 ;)

in instance 7 there is this search running for quite a while, for some [x]'text' AND(!) [x]'including archives'!

im working in instance 6 and changed into a dir, which is full of files
tc is reading this dir but i want to stop it from refreshing the dir contents and so i press ESC to do that

if i only use either search archives or search for text, everything is fine

as soon as im searching for both, the ESC-press is passed between the instances as pressing ESC in instance 6 stops my search in instance 7 ....

i have this persisting problem for many releases of TC now
im actually using 7rc4 and its still there :)
perhaps i should have reported it earlier ;)

Well, I didnt open 7 instances of TC, but only 2, nevertheless, I cannot confirm this behaviour.
Do you have any helper applications installed that might catch keys as hotkeys? AutoHotkey is a good example for this.
I switched to Linux, bye and thanks for all the fish!

the mostly used packer plugin here is dircbm from loo
besides that i dont change any deep setting or add any software to the standard install ...

ok i tested on another laptop

clean 6.52 install was there => no problems

i installed 7rc4 => no problems

i installed packerplugin dircbm
i was not searching in filetypes from this plugin, the file which was interrupted was the big hvsc.zip ...
=> problems as described in the first post
my conclusion -> not this speficically plugin

afterwards i renamed the plugin, so tc cannot find/start it anymore
i was not searching in filetypes from this plugin, the file which was interrupted was the big hvsc.zip ...
=> problems as described in the first post
my conclusion -> not this speficically plugin verified! ;)

from my knowledge of writing tc-packer-plugins, it shouldnt be this specific plugin
the plugin itself is running pretty well and never caused any problems, lets hope this isnt one :)
anyway, no matter how bad this is coded, the described behaviour shouldnt happen and my assumption: it is TCs fault 8)

I could confirm it now in the internal ZIP, ARJ, LZH etc. unpackers, but NOT in the plugin interface. If it happens to you only with plugins, then it must be a problem with that specific plugin. I will of course correct the problem with the internal unpackers.

that sounds like the solution, since i said, it raises during searching in the big hvsc.zip

anyway, are the plugins sending keystrokes to TC? if not that couldnt be the problem, so consider it fixed for now :)

Can anyone still reproduce this error? If not, I will move this thread to fixed bugs.

The fix was confirmed in the private beta forum, so I'm moving this thread to the fixed bugs forum.
