RC4: No refresh after search
Hi,
TC normally refreshs the file list as soon as the focus changes from another application to TC. However, if a search was active/finished when the focus changes the file list is not refreshed when the search window is closed.
Regards

Yes, right - I thought I was clear enough, sorry.TLis wrote:I guess, that JFierce7 means, that the Search window is a part of TC, so possibly TC does not receive a message about TC being brought to the front, contrary to the case, when you switch to TC from another Windows application ...
Reproducing is simple:
Let's suppose TC shows c:\folder1, c:\folder2.
Open a search window (alt-F7), change something in c:\folder1 by Explorer, for instance. This includes a focus change, btw.
Close search (ESC)
Now TC doesn't reflect the changes you did from Explorer.

There are two mechanisms which refresh the directory listing. The update on activation works fine for me (of course only if it's activated).
It doesn't work if only the automatic direcory refresh is activated. It has been discussed before:

In this particular case it does not work for me here:The update on activation works fine for me (of course only if it's activated).
- Open a file in your editor.
- Back to TC, press Alt-F7
- Edit the file and save.
- Close the search dialog, and see that the file timestamp is not refreshed, only when you press ctrl-r.
(WatchDirs=0)
I switched to Linux, bye and thanks for all the fish!

Indeed TC does not refresh the file list if just a dialog in TC is closed. This is by design to avoid excessive refreshing. Just press F2 or Ctrl+R to refresh.
