digit grouping when filesize>1TB

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

digit grouping when filesize>1TB

if file size is longer than 12 digits, it is displayed like

Code: Select all

1180 340 585 596
instead of

Code: Select all

1 180 340 585 596

Indeed there are no digit separators for this size, simply because such large files cannot be expected for a while.

The age of terabyte sized files is knocking on your door right now.

In business environments file sizes of databases, backups, etc can easily reach 1 TB, its nothing unusual.
Any home user can buy himself a 1TB drive for USD 399, he may create a disk image of his drive, or a big encrypted drive on the whole disk, that can reach 1TB.
And storage will be cheaper day by day
