As stated in this thread, there is a small issue with cm_ShowHint.
Settings/Display:
- (1) Show filename in the list as tooltip if truncated
- (2) Win32-style tips with file comments
If (1) is unchecked then (2) is disabled. If it had previously been checked though, cm_ShowHint shows a tooltip, even though (2) is disabled in Options.

Normally using latest TC on:
x32: WinXPx32 SP3 (very rarely nowadays).
x64: Clients/Servers - Win10/Win11 and Win2K16 to Win2K22, mainly Win10 though.

The idea of this is that you can use cm_showhints even when you have mouse hints disabled in the configuration, e.g. because you find them annoying. This way you can configure what type hints you want, and then disable them for the mouse.
