CbC : “Save nothing” does nothing…

Post by *Clo »

:) Hello !

• Testing about THAT TOPIC in edit mode, I got the “Save modified files…” (or so) dialogue
(despite nothing has been really changed).
- I used the "Save nothing" button, but the dialogue comes back endlessly, impossible to close the Compare tool…
- I'd to save one of the two files, resulting in a useless *.back unwanted backup file…

Not here. 'Don't save' worked as expected.

I can confirm that CbC wants to save one or both files if Alt+arrow-right has ben pressed. But isn't that was has to be expected - since:
Alt+Left/Right arrow = Copy selected text to left/right panel.
in Edit mode.

Like roentgen I can NOT confirm that the save dialog pops up endlessly - Don't save" also works as expected here.

Testet with both CompareSaveOriginal=1 and CompareSaveOriginal=0

I cannot confirm either that the save dialog would appear again and again. If you press ESC or choose "Cancel", then you will be returned to the compare dialog, so you can continue to edit.

Can you please give me step by step instructions how to reproduce the error? I closed the dialog with ESC, Alt+F4 and via the "X" button, but never got a repeating save dialog...

Please describe step by step what you did in the compare tool! I still can't reproduce any error there, but I may be doing something different than you did...

:) Good afternoon,

• Sorry, I couln't test again yet because some health annoyance…

- I have to test using unimportant files (copies) in a couple of test-folders, I'll report this a.s.a.p.,
and provide a video whether I can reproduce the problem.

:) Good morning,

• I tested again a lot as described above, but I couldn't reproduce that issue anymore…

- I suppose that something has disturbed the process when that occured.
- Meanwhile, I've rebooted the PC several times and scanned¦cleaned all with SpyBot
(that I missed, but I do normally each week or so).

• Anyway, I keep the test-files in their folders, and I will retest from time to time
with various states of the PC (free memory amount etc.).
- Sorry for the delay :|
