Sometimes it would be useful to see information about files/folders (size no. of files/folders ) inside to the STATUS BAR with nothing selected.
Maybe this can slow down TC speed, but the information is calculated and shown only when more than one file/folder is selected.
I prefer to set this, through configuration file, to be shown always instead the current one (name and extension), of course with '0' (zero) size selected and '0' (zero) file selected.
Now, I know, if I want to count the number of files and size of them, I must select all files or I can use some wdx plugin.
I think it's not very difficult to show a information that already exist.
Best wishes,

Full view and Thumbnail view display the number of files and directories in the footer.
Brief view shows the attributes in the footer and once again the name.
Why isn't the Thumb view footer equivalent with the Brief view footer? Attributes are not important in thumb view?
In brief view mode, why do we have the name once again displayed inside the footer when it would be more useful to have the number of files/dirs in there?

Hello !
• That you propose here is sensible, I could support.
• Especially, I would like to see the count of files when in branch-view that I use sometimes…
- It should be nice to get that info directly, without any plugin for an operation I perform from time to time only…
- Besides, it's known that I dislike the custom columns thingy, at least like it's designed currently…
- Ages ago, I've proposed -unsuccessfully- another simpler design dedicated to the most average users,
it's still available HERE as a RAR archive (bilingual, FR-Eng.)
Kind regards,
