TC "Blinks" all of a sudden

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

TC "Blinks" all of a sudden

Post by *Wisebird »

Hi there
i dont know either is a bug or not, but since i installed the latest version of TC, it continues blinking without no reason. (Like it refreshes something). I can't find the reason for that, because at work all is ok.
tried to reinstall several times to different folders - did not help. :roll:

Disable all

:) Again…

• Did you try to disable all “Auto-refresh” features in Options >> Refresh ?
- Also, disable the Lister plugins (if any) one by one, this could be an issue loading one (or not found… ?)
- Hard to say more, I never got such a problem here…

:) The last thoughts : Any virus-scanner running ? Or some faulty Shell extensions ?
- Which OS are you running ? How other programmes do behave ? :?

Did you try to download again the original archive from the TC Web site ?

Are you sure there is / are not other wincmd.ini file(s) elsewhere ? See : Help >> About…

what do u mean by the "original archive"? the installer from the official website? yes, thats the only 1 i use=)

Help -> About shows only 1 location for wincmd.ini & wcx_ftp.ini

btw, the time between "blinking" is longer now :-\

Please try this:
1. Choose Configuration - Change settings files directly
2. In wincmd.ini, add just below [Configuration] the line
DeviceChange=0

Explanation: It's possible that some misbehaving device is constantly sending arrival/unarrival messages to all running programs. TC refreshes the drive list on each such message.
