Application Error in Lister

Post by *samot »

Some time it happens to me, that I encounter an Application Error in the lister.

Particularly because of the second and fourth step it is a little bit hard to reproduce, but I think I found the "rules" behind the error:

- open a large (some MB) file in the lister and let it open
- do some other work in TC and other applications for a while
- delete or rename the file (and / or its folder) you have open
- do again some other work
- try to scroll in the file behind the 64 KB, that are preloaded by the lister

Usually (if you overstep the "do some other work) the lister would realize, that the file is missing and shows a message, but some times does not and crashes instead.

best regards

Are you certain, that no Lister plugin is in use in those cases?
I switched to Linux, bye and thanks for all the fish!

Yes, because I don't use Plugins.

Which version of TC do you use? There have been such problems with the new text cursor in early public beta versions, but this has all been fixed a long time ago...

I'm using the RC01, but was facing this error in the betas and maybe (I'm not sure) in the 6.5x versions.

best regards

RC01 is too old - please try TC7.01 final!
