Display of a non allowed drive !

Post by *Vansumsen »

Hello !

- On the FRENCH FORUM, a new user wished to hide the currently unused drives.
- He has to do that with the Allowed=… INI entry.
- However, this is not quite satisfactory, since he'll have to change his INI each time he'll need a usually non-allowed drive, let's say in example, a floppy or a card-reader.
- Like that's suggested in that French thread, I guess that a set of internal bistable commands like :
cm_DisplayDriveX
(where «X» is the drive-letter) should be very handy to display temporarily a needed drive which is not normally allowed.

- What do you think ?

L'important n'est pas de convaincre, mais de donner à réfléchir.
The important thing is not to convince, but to incite to think.

:) Hello Paul !

I support, indeed. I think it could be handy for those who have a lot of drives,
in which a bunch is used from time to time only…

In case of a CardReader I use the USB Drive Letter Manager which smartly hides all unused/empty slot drive-letters until they are used ...

:) Hello !

• Seems nice for that purpose, thanks !
- Unfortunately, that tool is in English¦German etc. but French is missing and it is not translatable (“legally”).

• However, the issue of other kinds of drives to hide¦show “on demand” remains… :?
