align text in current directory line

Post by *fjcasti »

Hi to everybody.

In current directory if the path is too long it displays the first part of the current directory, an what would be usefull is to see the last part of the path.

I guess, it would be a easy and very good improvement, to create an option to align right or left, the text in de current directoy line. or simply to show the right part of the path when this is longer than the available space.

thx and regards for everybody.

Currently TC shows the start of the path in the path line, and the end of the path to the left of the command line, so you can see both parts.

Same here. I'm also for DoubleT's version.

Same for me.

 Suggestions :
- A single click on the line to show the end/the begin if the path is too long.
- Automatic switching every X seconds of the view : begin/end of the path (in long cases).

This would unnecessarily grab user's attention.

Usually i dont look at the command line, but ok it could be solution. Anyway I use to look into compressed files (zip, jar, war) and then the command line displays only the name of the compressed file when the path line continues showing the full path.

if you click on the path line, you can see the full path, but this is not as fast as I need when I'm moving through a big path tree.

and I agree with m^2, This would unnecessary grab user's attention.

thx to all. Best regards.

A single click on the line to show the end/the begin if the path is too long.
Single click is already used for opening the line for editing (if InplaceRenamePath=1)
