Compare by contents: Highlight deleted/added space chars

If a space character has been deleted/added somewhere inside a line the line number is colored. The problem is that I have to scan the whole line until I find the missing space character.
Maybe this can be improved by showing a colored block in the file where the space character exists?

This would indeed be useful for single spaces, but would look quite ugly for inserted text with spaced in between...
