Show current (truncated) dir- or filename in new status bar

Post by *Erik-DJ »

Dir- and filenames get longer every day...

You cannot see long dir- and filenames in TC, most time they get truncated because the window simply is not width enough. TC has an option to show truncated dir- and filenames as a tooltip. That's fine, but you always need the mouse for that.

It would be nice if TC had an extra status bar (optional of course) over the whole width of TC (not for each panel differently) in which the dir- or filename under the cursor is shown.

Thanks (and of course TC is the best :) )

Not necessarily - you can assign a shortcut key to the command cm_ShowHint - to have the hint shown without using the mouse.

Thanks, but that gives extra "work": press shortcut. Besides that, the mouse moves to the selected dir/file and that's not what I want because the mouse hides a part of the file-/dir-name.
