A way to add a column to View File Owner?
Is there a way to add a column to the main view to show who the owner of a file is? I played around with custom columns but could not figure out what attribute to put in to get the file owner displayed. A step by step procedure would be appreciated.

I started this post years ago and could not remember my eMail address I registered with or my old PW so I created another. If an admin reads this please let me know how to reset my old GTWatson77459 and delete this one.
I use the SecInfo plugin at work on our LAN to see who is the owner of a file and ran across this post from long ago. I would be interested to find out how to display a column for the owner in TC without loading the plugin that MVV said was possible.

Thanks for the reminder. I'll try to reset my password with my work eMail address which I had forgotten. It's tough getting old and forgetful.
So, it there a way in TC to have a column for the file owner without the SecInfo plugin?
I've been using this great program for years and I continue to find gems.

No, there isn't any internal fields for SecInfo. If you have security concerns, you can write your own plugin, or ask someone to create an open source plugin for you.

Re: A way to add a column to View File Owner?
Thanks for the reply. The SecInfo plugin works great on my work network and I am happy with it (to find who owns a file).
I'm way too inexperienced to try to do my own plugin.

Re: A way to add a column to View File Owner?
Sorry to post to this old thread, but I got a new Win11 laptop and was trying to install this old Secinfo plugin and it has been several years since I did it. I got some warning that the plugin is 32bit and I needed to D/L the 64bit since this is the version I installed of TC. My old PC has the 64bit version of TC installed and the plugin works there so I'm at a loss of what to do. I did a search of the plugins and did not find WDX or SECINFO. TIA
Re: A way to add a column to View File Owner?
Why search if all the links are here? All three plugins are installed with two bitnesses. Download the plugin again and reinstall.gtwatson77459 wrote: 2025-01-14, 00:37 UTC I did a search of the plugins and did not find WDX or SECINFO.

It looks like the old Links no longer work or they timed out and I get an error message. I tried to get to the totalcmd.net link and it also times out. My Draconian employer may block something.

Try https://totalcmd.net. If that doesn't work, you'll have to find the plugins elsewhere, or download them via an unrestricted internet connection (e.g. at home).
