Hi,
it would be nice to have additional button in the search window to start search on the background. Search results would be feed to the listbox during the search. So user would be able to work with the search results before the search ends...
It would be very usefull for me,
Thanks!

You mean like copy/move in background? Maybe a separate process?kormizz wrote:Hi,

Usualy I'm working with lot of source code files. When I need to find/edit something inside the files in search result, I have to wait until search finishes...

This issue was already discussed quite often, e.g. here: click
If you search the forum for 'search background' or 'search modal' you can find more.
Unfortunately there is still no progress due to technical problems (with packers that aren't thread-safe for example). But there were different possible solutions suggested (e.g. make the search window non-modal when search in archives is disabled), so I still have some hope, as this modal search window is indeed quite annoying when doing excessive searches.

Sorry, I've missed that...StickyNomad wrote:This issue was already discussed quite often, e.g. here: i'm not allowed to post links

I vote to make this window non modal... Modal windows is one of the most annoying things. It's really strange to get the whole application freezed just only due to some modal window.StickyNomad wrote: Unfortunately there is still no progress due to technical problems (with packers that aren't thread-safe for example). Second thing is the unpacker and threads. I don't need to search archives and I believe that 90% of searches are not searches inside archives. This feature could be turned off while searching on background...
