WDX Plugin request: Extract text located in zip files

Post by *Sombra »

When Quick view (without plugins) is active and you browse through zip archives, TC search for determinate types of files like *.txt, read.me, etc. (in general plain text files) and the text appear in the quick view panel.

I miss this feature in a wdx plugin. It should be useful for big storages of zip archives like downloads, plugins directories of TC ;), etc. for show this text in a custom column. In tooltips, in search functions, for move this information to descript.ion files or data stream, etc. The data could be shown like textline or xpdfsearch does.

Maybe a good start point could be the plugin MIDlet developed by byblo which extract information from a plain text in jar archives (zip archive renamed)
Just this, only an idea more.

Hi :)

How the content plugin will show the info text which containing multiple lines into a single columns line ?
For example, like xpdfsearch does with the chain [=xpdfsearch.First Row] which show the first line or the chain [=xpdfsearch.Document Start] which show a determinate amount of characters. Another good example is the plugin TextLine It can show line 1, line 2, etc. , ignore determinates characters and blank lines.

At first glance, I can't view how it should work, but I will study it tomorrow. (Any value is shown where I choose the plugin textsearch for a custom column)
