my hot directory list has 224 entries;
the last item in wincmd.ini is:
menu224=L2Sim PRJ_STANDARD_1STRAND
cmd224=cd \\l2sim\PRJ_STANDARD_1STRAND
it is the last item of a "submenu" item named "menu213=-remote, other"
the list contains an item named "ANSHAN-APL" at position 120
if I add an additional (arbitrarily choosen) directory using "add current
dir" functionality it as placed at the end of the hot directory list (as
expected);
BUT as soon as I rename the added item to "ANSHAN-AYC"
the COMPLETE list of directories DISAPPEARS!
and, in turn, in wincmd.ini the entry "[DirMenu]" with all its
menu<N> and cmd<N> entries has been removed!
similar:
add a directory named "a-b" to the current directory,
add a directroy named "a-c" to the current directroy,
change into the respective directory and execute "add current dir",
both directories are added to end of the list
as soon as one or both (?) of this entries are move several entries up
the list, again, the directory list will be deleted!
this occurs with versions 7.03a and 7.04a
hot directory list deleted on adding another directory

As your number of entries is quite below of the limit of 998 entries:History.txt wrote:23.04.06 Added: The Ctrl+D menu now supports up to 998 items (if the limit of 64k per ini file section isn't reached before)
How large is your wincmd.ini section "[DirMenu]"?
Maybe the sum of commands and menu descriptions exceeds the 64kLimit?
