Hi,
In windows, I am missing a funtion for searching through files effectively.
I would therefore like to request to extend the QuickSearchFunction.
Currently, if one sets options to "search by letter with search dialog" one can only search for beginning or ending letters.
More comfortable would be:
Search for entered letter combination in all strings of the viewed folder (For a start, later a "search the whole disk" option is conceivable) and simultaneously hiding all files in the folder view which do not contain the letter combination.
Thank you for Total Commander,
Martin
search by letter behaves as mac osx spotlight

IIRC not if you disable both options in Configuration -> Quick Search -> Exact name match:Currently, if one sets options to "search by letter with search dialog" one can only search for beginning or ending letters.
Beginning (name must start with first typed character
and
Ending (last character before a typed dot . must match)
It is not a matter of one or the other - both can be disabled.
