Well, currently you cannot open any editor within TC at all, only viewers are supported by quickview.
(May some of the viewers have edit capabilities, but that's very special)
Which advantage do you see to have an editor within TC ?
Using an external editor internally will violate usage agreements of the editor, while develop a new editor means to "re-invent the wheel" and just never fits the needs of all users.
Just press F4 on a file and you get a new instance with your preferred editor ... what's wrong with this ?
