Please forgive me, I'm a bloody beginner with linux. I only learned that samba can be used to share directories with Windows and so I tried to update some files in a linux virtual machine (VMware) with the contents of a tgz file.
Compare Directory works fine but Synchronize Directories does not show the files inside the archive, whether they're never or older.
I have the tgz archive on one side (e.g. c:\DOCUME~1\beck0\LOCALS~1\Temp\_tc0\TWiki-4.2.3.tar\pub\_default ) and the linux directory on the other side (e.g. \\Twiki-vm\root\home\httpd\twiki\pub\_default ) but the compare operation in Synchronize Directories always shows all files from linux to be copied to the other side, which appears empty.
Synching between samba directory and tgz archive

tgz is actually one archive inside another. Try to go inside, then inside the TAR, and then try to synchronize.
