Auto-rename option during copying - is it possible to define how the files will be renamed?
Now it do it this way: config.xml -> config(2).xml
I would prefer for example something like this:
config.xml -> config.xml_1 or
config.xml -> config.xml.1

If I didn't get you wrong, you can edit the EXTENTION blank as "[E].1" or "[E]_1".

Can you tell me where? In INI file or I've missed any option in configuration.
Look: I don't mean Multi Renaming Tool but the new option during copying.

No, this isn't possible. The extension is kept because otherwise the file would no longer be associated with the correct program!

How do you get this feature to work at all? I tried copying a file over itself, but I don't see an auto-rename option anywhere.

Press F5, then click on the options button and choose the option.

I guess you mean the 'View' button. I have versions 17.11.2003 (downloaded today). It would be more intuitive if it said 'Options' instead of 'View'

you mean the 'View' button
You can see a "View" button at the copy dialog ?
You may check your keyboard mapping concerning F5 !

I installed TC 6 on 2 pc's (over a previous installation). On 1 pc, I see an 'Options' button. On the other, I see a 'View' button. Don't ask me why.

Hi Boofo,
Raymond was talking about the mutli-rename tool (CTRL+M) not the copy function.

Oh, ok, that makes sense now. Thank you, sir.
