Admin TC

Post by *krojc »

If I'm logged in as guest user I'm by default in Windows and Linux bound to my "home" space and user rights! Is it possible to change writing privilages during TC session in Windows - like shortcut key which would ask for Admistrator password and then work on as Admin until I cancel it!. I never learned to do anything without logging out in Win! :)

On my LinBoxes I use Krusader which supports Alt+K, which opens new Krusader after password was entered, as a root! I don't like another instance opened, but it beats the hell out of logging out and in!

If something like that is not yet possible I'd call for future feature.
I don't know if that is even possible under Win!

On a windows machine you can run every program as a different user. Right click on an executable or shell link file and execute "run as". Another way is to edit your "Total Commander.lnk". There should be an option to run as a different user. Check this option an. Every time you execute this shell link you'll be asked to enter your admin password.
