I have some files (named "1", "2", "3"). I place focus onto first file ("1") and... Some cases:
I tried to type "", ".", ".\", "..\", "\" as target folder (w/o quotes). Sometimes paths beginning with this patterns also affected, for example "..\1".
BTW, when I type "..\", TC shows dir list in correct folder, but can't combine files correctly.
As I expect, TC should place joined file into a folder with files to be combined (or its parent folder for "..").
Sometimes TC says that path is invalid.
Sometimes TC says that its couldn't create output file.
Sometimes TC places merged file into current folder at inactive panel (or its parent for ".." and "..\").
Also in cases when it works new file may appear w/o extension "out" (in TC 7.5 pb4).
I can't get the regularity. But I had found that TC chooses as target panel which changed dir last before combining.
TC 7.04a has similar bug.

I thought about it. It isn't comfortable. Even TC suggests subfolders when I typing "..\" and more. And short path I entered is fully valid.
I not so often use split/combine feature. I just want TC to be free from all bugs. I think, I'm not the only one.
And why TC shows so strange behaviour? BTW, about empty target dir I read from help file - so, it must work. But as I wrote, it doesn't in some cases.
