This only happens with file occultation active, that is Ctrl-S button pressed.
Let's suppose you want to select several files. Then you use the quick filter to find the first one, select it and press ESC twice (or backspace) so as to search for the other one.
It happens that the first selected file is filtered out during the selection. You select your second file and when you press ESC twice again you find out that your first selection is lost.
Shouldn't the selection be preserved?. This would imply that file occultation cann't be active for selecting several different files.
Using Quick-Filter deselects filtered out files

This has been discussed before - I think that it's too dangerous to have invisible files selected, that's why they get unselected when filtered out. Otherwise the user couldn't see what gets deleted, copied etc.

Do you mean to keep selected files visible also when using a quick filter?

OK, I will check whether it could be added as an option.
