BTM

Post by *Black Dog »

[face=courier]I summarize here some IMHO useful inventions for BTM.

• "Add to Queue by default" additional configuration.
• "Queue" command shortcut customization (e.g. some people prefer it to be ^Enter).
• Modification key to Queue via D&D (e.g. "Ctrl").
• BTM overall progress bar for local file operations.
• BTM list entries order changing/sorting.
• "Save transfer list" interfase option.
• Resizable operations list height.
• BTM window as D&D target support (including URLs).
• "Always on top" configuration (to use as D&D drop target).
• "Collapsed" mode (to use as D&D drop target).
Separate BTM instances for "fast" and "slow" operations.
• "Queue" command for other operations (e.g. HTTP downloads, packing, synchronization).
• Automatical Pause instead of error message on disconnect.
• Open paused BTM window with all tasks along with Commander window (i.e. pause BTM and save transfer list before Commander closes) if it was opened before you exit commander last time.

Well, did I missed something? %)[/face]

Think so: when selecting during BTM-download "edit list file" TC doesn't reload the list - or did I miss something??

Anyway: great suggestions :!: - would make the ball rounder ;).

...'till current file transferred.
I've just tried and waited..... the list wasn't updated after editing ! (Changed the sequence of some files).
So: how to edit the list during download, so that it gets considered?

Greetings,

TC only checks for changes AFTER the currently downloaded file. Why? Because before that location there may be names of skipped files!

I tried exactly this!
Changed the list via "edit listfile" during download, after the download of the file the list should change?!
Not here! The list remained the old one and the next file of the old list was downloaded.

Those, especially the first one is for me the most important.

My BTM Enhancement wishes IMHO

Priority 1
• BTM list entries order changing.
Priority 2
M> to be able to select a list of entries (click on first
M> element, press shift, click on the last).
I mean the typical selection methods in windows using Shift and Ctrl.
BD>Or may be ^Gr+ or ^A
• "Queue" command for other operations (e.g. HTTP downloads, packing, synchronization).
• BTM overall progress bar (not only for local file operations)
Nice to have
• Resizable operations list height.
Annoyances
• Automatical Pause instead of error message on disconnect.
Or perhaps connect retry dialog like when browsing FTP Sites interactively
Or file skip !

not needed anymore IMHO
• Separate BTM instances for "fast" and "slow" operations.
Can be done since TC 6.x,
You can start as many BTM form TC as you wish. Each BTM can be slowed down as needed.
The default one gets the jobs added with the F2 Button/Key.
The other ones can be feeded using the + Key on the BTM itself.
