FTP - Copy folder location from disk paste in FTP change /

Post by *omdawe »

Hello, i work with websites and many times i´m really deep in many folder both on FTP and Locally on my disk, but most of the times im on the same folder on my local disk and on the FTP server.
example local disk:
components/shop/themes/default/templates/browse/

And what i do today to go faster to a folder on my FTP server i "CRTL+ALT+C"="cm_CopyFullNamesToClip" on my local disk and paste it in notepad2 and go to find and replace all "/" to "\" with out the " of course.. paste it in the address bar (hope someone understand if i do use the wrong terminology) to go to that folder faster. And this also make it more easy for me to go back and forward in between to folders that is far way from each other (with back and forward button (tanx i love it)).

what i have noted is if i copy:
components\shop\themes\default\templates\browse\
with the "\" in the wrong way for a local disk total commander recognize this and still take me to the right folder.

But if i copy folder names with the "/" and not "\" it don't work on FTP. Is it possible to fix this?

Many tanx if this is sorted..

Try pathcopy for customized copying of paths via right click menu:
http://www.google.com/search?q=pathcopy

In Total Commander, you need to hold down the right mouse button for about a second to ge the context menu.
