WebDAV plugin not working correctly in Windows 7
Hi, I'm a happy user of Total Commander and its WebDAV plugin.
On Windows XP everything is alright, but on Windows 7 (64 bit) long uploads time out (feedback shows 'HTTP Timeout').
Can this be resolved in the plugin, or is it a Windows 7 problem? Any solution suggestions are appreciated!
Internet forums suggest Windows 7 has some issues with WebDAV.
Thanks!
Jos

My WebDAV plugin is using the Internet Explorer functions like InternetOpen to connect to Web servers (WebDAV is essentially HTTP with some special commands). Timeout problems are handled internally by the IE functions, my plugin doesn't care about them. I'm not aware on any function changes in Windows 7, does anyone know more about it?

Thanks for your input Christian. I'm pretty confident it's something else than your plugin that is the source of my problems. I now get HTTP timeouts on Windows XP as well when uploading a file of approx 400MB. The HTTP timeout occurs after 30 seconds. Maybe it's something in the Web server I'm using (from Dutch telecom: KPN EHSO).
Perhaps there is an IE setting I can change to make the timeout larger?

30 seconds exactly? That sounds like some kind of a timeout, e.g. a proxy timeout or php script timeout...

Please try the latest version of my plugin. There seems to be a bug in 64-bit Windows when using client certificates. I have written a workaround for it now.

hey guys,,,,
Do you know of another freeware which can use WebDAV in Windows 7 32-bit and 64-bit?
Please don’t hesitate to post it below so we can all check it out. I’ll also be updating this article
(if in case Microsoft releases a fix for WebDAV or web folders)
so be sure to check back to the site.

Is there anything wrong with my plugin? I fixed the Windows 7 bug in the meantime...
