TC moves cursor to upper line when trying to open an archive

TC moves cursor to upper line when trying to open an archive
1. Launch TC from clean install
2. Start downloading an archive (by TC or by web browser, it does not matter)
3. Navigate to this archive in TC and try to open it
4. The "Error in packed file" message appears, click OK on this dialog
5. Observe TC's cursor
Result: TC's cursor is moved to the first line in the panel
Expected: TC's cursor should stay on the archive in this case
Note: As I remember TC starts to behave like this from ver. 7.50.

Can't confirm. Sometimes I try to open archive before it is downloaded and I can't say that I saw such behaviour. Now I created damaged ZIP-archive (copied existing one and truncated a few bytes from it) and tested it in TC 7.55b1 and TC 7.50a - after "Error in packed file' message focus stays on archive. Even in clean installation - I've installed clean TC but result is the same.
Are you sure your clean install is really clean (wincmd.ini should have size of few bytes or you even may delete it at all, also starting with parameter /i=newini.ini allows to start TC with another INI). And, have you tested it on another machine? Maybe you have some external tool that makes TC to act so?

Double checked on another machine with TC 7.50a and 7.55 PB1. I have mentioned above behavior.
- I've downloaded TC 7.50a here: http://ghisler.com/download.htm.
- Installed it to default path, chose INI in program dir. Installation dir didn't exist before installation. No external tools are installed or running.
- Then started downloading this zip: http://miranda.googlecode.com/files/miranda-im-v0.8.19-src.zip by Opera 10.51. Also tried downloading by another TC instance.
- Then double click or enter on miranda-im-v0.8.19-src.zip while it is downloading.
In a result - cursor jumped to first line.

Maybe the zip is locked during the download? Some browsers do not allow access to files while they are still ownloaded, so you may be getting a sharing violation.

Mr. Ghisler should confirm bug and find its reason in order to fix it. It is really hard to fix when you don't know what exactly to fix and what to expect.Axe1 wrote:Will it be fixed in 7.55 final?
BTW I can confirm bug with your link to Miranda - if I try to enter archive while Opera downloading this file, TC shows error message and sets focus to ".." item of folder.
OK, I will try to explain once again.
1. Install and launch TC with default ini.
2. Open a directory in your Hard Drive in TC's panel. Make sure the directory is not root or contains other files/folders.
3. Press Ctrl+N and paste this link to the "Connect to" field: http://download.xnview.com/XnView-win.zip
4. Start downloading in background.
5. Press F2 to update file list in the panel.
6. While archive if being downloaded set cursor to XnView-win.zip and press Enter or double click.
7. Press OK in the Error in packed file message box.
8. Observe cursor's position.
Result: cursor is moved to the first line in the panel. Should stay on archive.
This happens ONLY for archive that is being downloaded. I believe, the size of the file changes continuously, TC refreshes the list and for some reason sets cursor to first line. Tested on TC 7.55RC1.
I wonder if your behavior differs, I've tested on several computers with Windows XP Pro.

Yes, great! That's it.MVV wrote:BTW I can confirm bug with your link to Miranda - if I try to enter archive while Opera downloading this file, TC shows error message and sets focus to ".." item of folder.
Mr. Ghisler, please let me know if something is still not clear with steps, observed and expected results.
