Would you please consider adding line numbers to the Lister?
So that they can be turned off (default) or on from, for example,
the top menu...
Thanks for considering this suggestion!

Hello !
• This has been requested n… times, you might use the Search…
- The Author is not in favour of such a feature; it exists in the UniversalViewer tool by Alextp though,
with options (all lines numbered, or by bunches of n… lines etc.).

Clo is right, the Author doesn't want to implement line numbers for performance reasons.
Alternatively you can use a Lister plugin, e.g.
Syn2.1 (which I use) http://www.ghisler.ch/board/viewtopic.php?t=25586 or
synplus http://www.totalcmd.net/plugring/synplus.html.

Lister would have to read the entire file from the beginning to the current location to count lines for line numbers. While this is feasible for small files, you can forget it for several GB large log files or other large files. If you need this, please use a Lister plugin like Syn or synplus as suggested by StickyNomad.
