MRT - insert clicked field at cursor

Post by *Hacker »

Hello *.*,
Start MRT, put the cursor somewhere into the Extension field, click the "[hms] Time" button. Now [hms] is inserted at the beginning of the Name field even though I wanted it to be in the Extension field, at the cursor position. Could this please be changed?
And before anyone asks, I had to change the extension of a bunch of files using the TrID plugin.

TIA
Roman

Well, I don't have any "[hms] Time" button at the extension section, though I have one at the filename section (which correctly inserts at its related section) ;)

To be serious: The buttons have to be independent of the sections to be more flexible, and insert the related text into the last activated field.
... but how do you know which field was activated before ?

Indeed the buttons only work for the field under which they stand. But you can write the button text manually into the field, the buttons are just for lazy people...

Christian,
I am lazy! :D Could the buttons work universally - ie for the currently active field?

No, this would be too confusing for the user, especially when the cursor is elsewhere, e.g. in the search/replace fields.

:D Maybe idea: when holding CTRL-Key while clicking on [hms] or such, then TC should respect the actual focus :?:

:( It's confusing now. "I clicked the button, where is the code? I do not see it. Oh, all my filenames have changed, wtf? Ah, it inserted it in the wrong field, I see."

Better highlighting of active field might help here, also.
