[REQ] auto refresh for current FTP view

Post by *reikoenghardt »

first of all I have to say thank you, thank you, thank you for this really great tool. I use TC since some years (minimum 1997) ;-)

I have a development request which would my life more easyer...
Regular I have to wait until files on a server are processed and moved into a specific location which is reachable via FTP. When I watch this folder I have to press F2 or Strg+R to "reread source"until the files are processed. The necessary timeframe is sometimes really very long...

Espeacially unnicely for me is that in FTP connections walking into directory / changing of directory will not refresh the TC window automatically - so update the window seams for me important.

I would not expect to reread an FTP folder in case of changing the directory because I can imagine that such a rered may in some FTP connections lead to long waittimes. So I suggest to add a parameter in FTP connection settings dialog "ftp auto-reread /refresh time". So I will be able to activate per connection a specific reread timeslice. This time frame I would expect as seconds. If I switch to a remote folder the waitstep timeframe should be restarted and if its time is gone a next refresh has to be requested.

You can turn off the directory cache in the configuration of that connection.

Hmm, that's quite unusual (an server owners would certainly hate it). If you really need it, you could write a small script (e.g. with autohotkey) to send F2 or Ctr+R to TC.
