It would seem that with v7.55, the differences cannot be highlighted in simple inverse video - i.e. as selected text would appear.
IMHO the differences would be much easier to discern if using inverse video.

You can change backcolor of difference line by putting the key CompareDifferenceBack under [Colors] section in your Wincmd.ini

Yes but doesn't that change the backcolor of the entire line?
What I want is to change the backcolor of the difference text not the difference line

you can do by setting
CompareText
Try to use
Configuration Editor 6 to find more about TC settings

CompareText sets the foreground color of the difference text not the background.
I want to be able to set the background color of the difference TEXT not the difference LINE.
