QuickSearchAutoFilter=1 Not working.

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

QuickSearchAutoFilter=1 Not working.

Post by *ThurahT »

The topic says it all. The setting gets reverted to "0" as soon as I start Ttoalcmd. I have it set to "QuickSearchAutoFilter=1" in my backup wincmd.ini and after copying it to totalcmd program directory and restart Toalcmd it gets reverted back to 0. Really frustrating since I like that feature.. : ) . This is on Vista 64.

Maybe you're disabling quick filter after TC start? 0 and 1 values are floating - TC may change them. If you're using quick filter always you may try to use value 2.

Also you may use Ctrl+S to open quick filter instead of just quick search - it will enable auto-filter even if it was not enabled before.

That is weird.. I never had to press CRTL+S before.. But when I do it now the quicksearchaoutofilter seem to work.. Without doing it with CRTL+S.. I need to do it once tho.. Like it doesn't kicks in until at least doing it once. Then it works properly without pressing CRTL+S.

Smthng isn't right tho. Because nothing is changed in the INI when I look now. It is still set to "0"... But it does autofilter anyways.

Edit: I guess value "2" is what I am looking for. But I do not understand what "1" is for then..

QuickSearchAutoFilter updated only when you close TC

QuickSearchAutoFilter will save the state of quick search filter on closing TC as far as it is not set to -1 or 2

TC help wrote: QuickSearchAutoFilter
0: Automatic quick search filter (Ctrl+S) disabled
1: Automatic quick search filter (Ctrl+S) enabled
-1:Like 0, but do not save state when closing TC (filter always disabled at startup)
2: Like 1, but do not save state either (filter always on when starting TC)

Values 0 and 1 reflect quick filter button state on TC exit - TC sets value to 1 if quick filter is enabled or to 0 if not. Values -1 and 2 TC lefts unchanged anyway.

Ah.. That little icon is a button.. See.. I never use mouse so I never actually clicked it.. Theres no way to get to it by keyboard (at least none of the keys I tried) so now it makes all sense. Thanks for all of your replies. I will use "2". : )

It does! I see it now : ) . But you see.. It is not visible if you are a black background user, like myself.. That small text is hard coded black! It should follow the color coding of windows or its own program., but it doesn't : )

Wonder if there are more hard coded color coded things I've missed... : )

Agree. I think it would be more useful to have just filter icon on that button and hint on mouse hover like 'Enable/Disable quick filter (Ctrl+S)'.

I can't remember any other buttons with hardcoded text.
