Way to retrieve search criteria from search results

Post by *jdmarch »

When I preserve several "feed to listbox" search result tabs, and view (F3) a file in any given tab/listbox, I would like F3 in the viewer to search for the string that found those files, rather than the for the string that was used in the most recent search. (At least as an option.) In addition (or perhaps as an alternative if the first point is not feasible) I would like to be able to quickly see the complete search criteria which created that listbox.

Thanks.

If it is so important, you can save this search (last tab of Alt+F7). But it is not very convenient, because the search options are numerous and sometimes very sophisticated (for example, do you understand this

Code: Select all

0|000002000020|||||||||0000
I don't).
As an option you can open another instance of TC, open saved searh there, and thus see the search options in more readable way.

Sure, and I can also make screen shots of the search param dialog. But even these methods don't associate a given search with its result box.
