Eventually I've copied from my old computer version 5 and it really worked, although some tasks wouldn't work (config).
Is here someone who can help me. TIA

Thanks for your reply, however....Clo wrote:tedje99 wrote:Several times I have tried to install TC on my new computer P4 with winXP but it always stops with a warning: Couldn't write ....(forgot the filename).

¤ To install any program under XP, you must have the full Admin rights...
Whether TC can't write some file somewhere, it's certainly because it's a read only item (dir or file to overwrite) for you
¤ Do not install TC from an user account having limited rights.
Hoping that shall help you,
Friendly regards,
Clo
I executed everything like you told me, but it still doesn't work and the.hlp-file could not be copied.Coco wrote:Hi tedje99,
Did you try to redownload the package?
Try to launch the install when no other programs are running or just after you start your computer.
If it's still not working give us the exact error message with the filename.

Hello!
¤ Just two details:
1. Please, could you try to install again, and note what is the (1st.) file which can't be written by TC?
2. At install-time, you're prompted to choose the <wincmd.ini> file location. Normally, the current default - in the TC dir. - is right under XP.
- Placing this file in <windows> caused problems with NT/XP, hence this choice had been added... Otherwise, that can be changed using the "Inireloc" free tool available at TC Web site under "Addons"...
- I suppose that your XP is installed under NTFS ? It works too under FAT32, but so bad...
I choose to put the ini-file under TC, but it wouldn't work.
The first file it then refuses to copy is the help-file, then it closes.
I'm still very disappointed and yes XP is installed under NTFS.
Glad to hear more about this issue,
Best regards,
friendly,
Clo
