Unix dirs not case sensitive

Post by *giulix »

Apologies if this has already been reported or is known.
With Samba, if I create two dirs with same name -one uppercase and the other lowercase- on the Unix host (e.g. MP3 and mp3) TC6.1 does not differentiate between the two and always shows the contents of the lowercase one.

Have you tried to uncheck:
"Configuration / Options / Display / File Display / Show old 8.3 filenames lowercase" parameter?

This is a known Windows bug - Windows cannot distinguish between them and will cache the first one you request, and always show you that even if you try to view the other. The same happens in Explorer.
