OS: WinXP SP1
Version: TC 6.01
Prerequisites:
@TC:
Configuration - Options - Layout - Display - File display - "Show parent dir also in root of drive"
@Windows XP: My Computer - Tools - Folder options - View - check "Show Control Panel in My Computer"
- Set path to root of any drive (e.g. C:\)
- Go to parent dir
- Go to "Control Panel"
- Go to, "Administrative Tools"
Note how the path is truncated to old 8.3 mode; instead of showing the full path.

Hi, VaagOH,
some days ago, exactly the same question was brought up in the German forum.
Christian Ghisler explained that this happened, because TC got the path value for Administrative Tools from the Windows registry and that the path value was stored in the old 8+3 DOS format there.
Regards,
Karl
